Piptospatha ridleyi

N. E. Brown 1894

This species is native to the Malaysian Peninsula.

Bought as an Aglaonema in an aquaristic shop.
It must have been grown long underwater, because the petioles could not hold the blades
so I had to lay the plant to take photos.
The veins on the lower side of the leaves were copper-red, the petioles too.
A few weeks later I bought another specimen
smaller, with no red venation
but it's the same species.
And again bought as aquatic, it didn't accomodate to the emerse culture.
In an aquarium it grew slowly and died.
